This block of 12 units is located in the most prime location in all of Newcastle. Old and dilapidated this building did not live up to the potential and was in serious need of a make-over. Crest Restorations Pty Ltd was awarded this project due to its experience and expertise in façade upgrades. The project is expected to be completed on time by December 2007. The building is occupied during construction.
The work generally comprised:
- Concrete repair, including electrochemical treatment
- Retrospective installation of brick ties
- Installation of new windows and doors
- Creation of new openings for doors and windows
- Installation of over 60 tonne of new stainless steel balconies
- Creation of a lift shaft and installation of lift into building
- Installation of new handrails
- New balcony wateproofing and tiling
- New external balcony lighting
- Complete coloured polymer modified render system needing no painting
- Installation of new Comtex blade wall systems
- New landscaping, including retaining wall and new concrete pavements
- New ground works, including drainage and bitumen carpark area
- New fire doors internally and other miscelaneous carpentry
- Internal rendering and painting
- Roof works, including custom fascias
